Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger founded Instagram, an image and video-sharing social media platform in the United States. Facebook Inc. bought the service for $1 billion in cash and equity in April 2012. Burbnas, a mobile check-in app, was the origin of Instagram in San Francisco.
